According to the Chinese national standard "adhesive Classification" (GB/T 13553-1996), it can be classified according to the main adhesive properties, or according to the physical shape of the adhesive, or according to the adhesive hardening method, or according to the adhesive adhesive is classified, so there are many kinds of adhesives, various forms, complex structure, different performance. At the international level, European Adhesives and Sealants Industry Association (FEICA), American Adhesives and Sealants Council (ASC), and China Adhesives and Adhesives Industry Association (CATIA) issued a unified Adhesive and Sealants Product Classification Guide in 2012. And has been South Korea, Japan, Taiwan adhesive industry association response and recognition.
Adhesives are one of the important varieties of macromolecule materials. The development, production and application of synthetic adhesives began in 1958. After 1980s, due to the rapid development of economy and the continuous improvement of people's living standards, the demand for adhesives is increasing and the application field is becoming more and more wide. It has entered the textile, packaging, automobile, construction, building materials, papermaking, wood processing, electronics, household appliances, housing equipment, transportation, aerospace, medical and other sectors. The adhesive industry has become an indispensable backbone of our national economy. Unfortunately, there is no specific category, code or category name for adhesives industry in the National Economic Classification, which has been revised in previous editions. It can only be generally classified as "Manufacturing of Other Special Chemical Products" (C2669).
In order to let people understand and understand the adhesive industry, popularize the basic knowledge of the adhesive industry, and gradually improve the international status and influence of the adhesive industry, the 16th Asian Adhesives Association Leaders' Conference was held in Seoul, South Korea in mid-October 2019. The Japan Adhesives Industry Association proposed that September 29 be designated as "The international day of Adhesives" or "The day of bonding," which was discussed and confirmed by the boards of directors of various adhesives associations. On March 27, 2020, China Adhesives and Adhesive Tape Industry Association held the sixth session of the eighth Board of Directors in the form of communication in Beijing. After deliberation and approval by the representatives of the plenary meeting, it was unanimously agreed to establish September 29 as the "International Adhesives Day". It is hereby announced.
